Albania Macedonia and Kosovo tour in 15 days is a unique possibility to explore the natural beauties and the historical treasures of Albania Macedonia and Kosovo. Visiting well known archaeological and historical sites of Albania and Macedonia, the most well preserved religious monuments (some dating back to the Byzantine Empire).

Day 1

Our representative will wait for you at Tirana International Airport and escort you to your hotel in Tirana, the Capital of Albania. Time at leisure.

Day 2

After breakfast we start a walking tour of Tirana, Skanderbeg square, Et’hem Bey mosque, clock tower, the Orthodox Church, National Historic Museum. After the visit we continue to Durres, the second largest city in Albania where we will visit the Amphitheater II century AD, the Venetian tower, the Byzantine walls of the city and the Archeological museum rich in ancient artifacts. Continue towards Tirana for Overnight.

Day 3

After breakfast we drive to Elbasan. We will visit this interesting city with its ottoman fortress. After the short visit we will continue towards Pogradec, a very nice city at the shores of Lake Ohrid. We continue towards Korça, an important cultural centre of the southeastern Albania, nicknamed “the little Paris of Albania”. After we arrive make a panoramic visit of the city with the historic centre and the old western style houses, dating from the early XX century, the Orthodox Cathedral and the old bazaar.

Day 4

After breakfast we will continue towards Gjirokaster, UNESCO World heritage town since 2004, which is admirably conserved with its ottoman architecture. First we will stop in Përmet, a little city in the middle of very high mountains of the south with a traditional architecture of socialist realism. We will visit the special orthodox church of Saint Mary of the XVIII century in the village of Leusë. We will continue towards Gjirokastra to explore the old town, UNESCO World Heritage town.We will start our visit from the Ottoman fortress (XIV century) and continue with a visit at the old bazaar.

Day 5

After breakfast we will continue towards Saranda. On the way, we will visit the magical Blue Eye water springs natural park. After this coffee break we will continue along the breath-taking road to Saranda and check in the Hotel near the sea and have Lunch at the Lekuresi castle up in the hill, which offers the best view of the city and the sea. After lunch we will visit the Archaeological park of Butrinti, UNESCO World Heritage site since 1995. Founded in the VII century BC by the Chaons of Epirus, it became one of the most important cities in the Ionian Sea and nowadays it is the best preserved archaeological site in Albania. After visiting Butrint leisure time to enjoy the city and a stroll along the sea side promenade and prepare for dinner.

Day 6

After breakfast we depart for Berat. This day we will only drive along the Albanian Riviera overlooking the Ionian Sea. We proceed to Porto Palermo, where the Ali Pasha Castle stands like a barrier in front of the blue rocky sea as a protection for the country. The bay of Porto Palermo once served as an important secret military submarine base. After the visit we will continue along the breath-taking road to Himara and its 7 villages up to 1000 m over the sea level, and Vlora the city of Independence of the Albanians from the ottoman empire in 1912. Continue to the monastery of Ardenica XIII century, constructed over the ruins of a ancient pagan temple dedicated to goddess “Artemis”. Arrive in Berat “the city of 1001 windows”, the oldest city in Albania of at least 2400 years. We will check in the traditional Hotel.

Day 7

Our visit in Berat UNESCO World Heritage town will start from the old Mangalemi and Gorica neighborhoods to continue with a visit in the IV century BC fortress located on the hill overlooking the Osumi valley. The fortress is better known for the old Orthodox cathedral where the Onufri Icon Gallery is located. Here we will admire some of the most beautiful and oldest icons in Albania, dating from the XIV century. In the second part of the day we will drive towards Ohrid, Macedonia. In late afternoon we will check in our hotel in the old part of the town of Ohrid, which is located by the lake.

Day 8

After breakfast we begin our guided visit in Ohrid UNESCO World Heritage town.
We will start our visit at the Icon Gallery located near the Virgin Merry church which is one of the most impressive in the town. Next visit will be at the Roman Amphitheater nearby. We will continue with a visit at Plaoshnik archaeological site. We will continue our visit downtown by the lake. After a short walk downhill we will arrive at Kaneo church, a symbol of the Slavic Orthodox Church. A short walk on the shore will take us at Sveti Sophia cathedral where we will end our visit of Ohrid.
In the second part of the day we will drive by the lake, toward the monastery of Saint Naum which is located in the south tip of lake Ohrid, next to the Black Drin natural water springs park. After a row boat ride in the spring we will visit the church which Saint Naum first built in the X century and where he is buried. Evening at leisure to explore the town on your own.

Day 9

In the first part of the day we will drive towards Bitola, our first stop at the archaeological site of Heraclea Linkestis, an ancient town founded by Philip II in the IV century BC. Next visit will be in the old town of Bitola where we will visit the old cathedral and the old bazaar of the town.
After lunch we will drive to Skopje the capital of FYRO Macedonia where we will check in our hotel near the center of the town. We will arrive in our hotel in Skopje in late afternoon.

Day 10

After breakfast we will start the tour of Skopje from the old part of the town. Our visit will include the old fortress, the mosque, the old Slavic orthodox cathedral and the old bazaar. After crossing over Vardari River through the Stone Bridge we will continue our visit in the new part of the town which is famous for its huge collection of statues and recently renovated Main Square. The town is also famous for fact that Mother Teresa grew up in this town. Afternoon and evening at leisure to explore the town on your own.

Day 11

After breakfast we will drive towards Prishtina, the capital of Kosova. On the way we will visit Gracanica Christian Orthodox monastery. Afterwards we will visit the capital and also the biggest city of Kosovo, Prishtina, we walk in the main promenade. In the afternoon we will check in our hotel located near the center of Prishtina. Evening at leisure.

Day 12

In the first part of the day we will drive towards the town of Peja located in the north part of Kosova where after a short stop by the river of Peja we will visit Decani Monastery which is an UNESCO World heritage site, a symbol of the Slavic orthodox church and the Serbian history, famous for its impressive church and peaceful surroundings. Next visit will be in the old part of the town of Gjakova, famous for its old bazaar. Our tour will continue south towards the historical town of Prizren where we will check in our hotel located in the old part of the town.

Day 13

Our day will start in the old part of the Ottoman style town of Prizren, we walk around in the neighborhood, visit ‘Qarshia’, the bazaar, the Sinan Pasha mosque etc.
In the second part of the day we will visit the historical town of Shkodra, where we will visit the old IV century BC fortress located on the hill overlooking the town of Shkodra and the lake of Shkodra with some spectacular views. In the late afternoon we will check in our accommodation in the town of Shkodra. Evening at leisure to explore the old town of Shkodra.

Day 14

In the first part of the day we will drive and visit the historical town of Kruja in Albania. Our visit will start form the Ottoman fortress (XV century) and will include the Skanderbeg’s museum, the Ethnographic museum, the Bektashi mosque and the old bazaar. In the afternoon we will drive to Tirana and check in our hotel.

After breakfast, we will drive you to Tirana international airport for your flight back home.
